Here's the BBC link i.e. this one to the tin-tacking of Roberto Donadoni.
What a quite harsh imo, but expected decision by the FIGC (The Italian FA) to terminate Donadoni's contract, just 2 weeks after he signed two year extension to 2010. Let's face it the current Azzuri squad is quite clearly in need of a reshuffle. He got them through to the knock-out round and gave Spain a tough game without two key cogs in midfield i.e. The Milan duo Pirlo and Gattuso. Personally, there isn't much anybody else could have done, apart from Lippi. But some would say that he never should have got the job in the first place and it was a step up a level. Because he managed Livorno and with Ancelotti still Milan's manager, Donadoni was touted a a possible successor to him - but it didn't happen.
But after the defeat to Spain 2 days ago Italy needs new players who are capable of following on the likes of e.g. P&G, Cannovaro, Del Piero etc. No doubt the Italian press must have slaughtered him in terms of his tactics & selection on Sunday.
The Italian FA must be kidding themselves if they thought they should have gone further. Especially with the likes of Totti & Alessandro Nesta both retired from iinternational footie after winning World Cup 06.
