Stunning Pictures of Scotland

C'mon now it did look tropical in that pic. Wonderful in fact.

Skin contact with the water quickly reminds you that it is really quite far north! But it is a lovely place. One time I visited, the Hebridean Princess came into the bay and anchored for the night. (Pic is from elsewhere)

Sitting on the waterfront at Plockton, as the sun went down, and the ship lit itself up like a Christmas tree, was a genuinely spine-tingling moment.

Not a stunning pic, but I go to smoke on this bench and look over the bay. It's a great place for chilling and relaxing when I'm in Scotland

And the submarine in the bay. (Wish I knew the history of it being wrecked here)

Tell me the bay and I'll find out. Depending where it is it might be from the Battle of May Island, or one of a number sunk and used for target practice in WW2.

They were towed there and used as target practice by the RAF after WWII (according to wiki).

Yup - These were the prototype X-Craft, successors of which were used to plant charges under the Tirpitz and other raids. But the two beached around Aberlady never saw active service. IIRC they were used as training vessels then moored for target practice when there was no further use for them.
