Student wants consumer advocate to help with essay they bought.

I knew someone who did their book reviews by reading sparknotes. Why get yourself into student loan levels of debt for what is basically a massive doss for the first year and then not use some of that time to read what you are supposed to and make a considered opinion on it?

people who sell essays are as bad as those who buy them I recon. Your just enabling some rich little shit and teaching him fuck all except 'oh, money can buy me anything'. Probably not one he needs reinforcing eh

A bit of imagination on the part of the assessors and the institutions could stop this sort of crap. But then our educational institutions are more about money than learning these days so I guess buying your qualification in one way or the other is tolerated or ignored. All those MBAs issued via APL in return for a large sum lead the way.

I've met a few MBA holders who are working in roles that only require an a-level holder. Some mba programmes are clearly not worth the time or money whether you cheated our not.

Aye, there seems to be a sense of entitlement sold with MBA degrees. Many of them seem very expensive for what is sometimes just a collection of first year business courses.

They bought the essay which is legit for whatever reason. If however they tried to turn this in as their own work, then that is the problem. All I see is the buying of it.

If you're buying a 2/1 essay for £200 for educational or entertainment purposes you've got too much money or not enough sense.

well thats it £200 is a variable feast according to one's means

Well quite. However, if it was but a trifle to this student he'd hardly be writing to a consumer rights column now would he?

Someone buying essays on the internet is concerned with principles?
Exactly just the same as you buy drugs online you expect to get them otherwise the seller is a cunt. Whatever it is you offer goods or services for money and dont deliver then it is a rip off. If you then try to make out it was somehow justified, then that is up to you.

I cheated a bit in O level maths, stole a bit of that special exam paper from a previous exam, wrote some formulae on it and smuggled it into the maths exam where I could have it on my desk looking like exam notes / planning / working out etc

I'm sure we've all done it :hmm:

(The student is still wrong though)

Student intended to commit fraud and only failed because the instrument wasn't good enough. You can commit a crime by attempting one even when you have no chance of succeeding. I can't recall the name of the case where someone got done for attempting to smuggle drugs. They were actually carrying talc but believed they were carrying drugs: genuine attempt >> genuine prosecution

When I strongly suspect someone has submitted a paid for essay then I do my best to give it a low to medium mark. Usually a store bought essay is well written but not reflective about the subject and too general to answer specific learning outcomes well .
