Sticky: On This Forum You Must Have These Opinions.

I know it's already covered by the generic indie option, but could we have a special mention for the Stereophonics on list 2 please?

Also, where do we cut off the works of the Manic Street Preachers? Many people would agree that some albums would be in list 1, some in list 2, but what's the cut-off point? I'd say anything up to Everything Must Go, but some would draw the turned-shit line earlier. I await clarification from the bluestreak.

I don't think it was ever cool to like the Bloodhound Gang.

It was cool when you were fourteen and they said "tits" a lot. Then when you got to eighteen, you grew up a bit and realised that they were actually shit and had no real points to make. Then you grew up a bit more, and realised that actually, fart jokes had always been hilarious. They'll be permanently cool in my mind since that song where the lyrics were entirely Ralph Wiggum quotes.

I hate punk, folk and reggae but love Detroit Techno, Eighties Metal, Hip-Hop and showtunes; am I going to be banned?

Some of "everything must go" was okay, but if you use the general rule of thumb that post Richie = bad, you should be okay.

What list are Atomic Suplex and other offline bands in even if such bands play list 2 music?

Yeah always was a bit of an albatross and a bandwagon for shithead artists to jump on. I used to write for No Depression and we'd always use the expression "alt.country (whatever that is)" which kind of took the piss out of the supposed scene.

NWA is a much finer term.

:):) to every line

As someone with a way below parr post count I obviously wouldn't dream of requesting clarification or making a suggestion but, if I were 2k+, I would have to query whether Girls Aloud's later work can really be deemed acceptable. This is, of course, hypothetical: I've 1922 posts to go.

eh? other than a few covers and some of their ballads, they've been consistently excellent.

dodgepot claims their latest album is the best yet, and he wouldn't make such a claim lightly...

What would the official line on something like johnny cash's beautiful cover of U2's One?

Where does that fit in.

*raises hand*

I know I'm not up to 2000 posts yet but can I respectfully suggest that all Enya, chill-out bands/compilations and any other hippy pan-pipe related shit be added to list 2?

Thank you please :)
