What about 90's american punk, that it became uncool to like, and it is now becoming cool to like again? See: NOFX, The Bloodhound Gang.
Harsh.manics: category 2 (entire career)
I don't think it was ever cool to like the Bloodhound Gang.
you're a fucking newbie anyway - as if we'd pay any attention to an objection from you...
I know it's already covered by the generic indie option, but could we have a special mention for the Stereophonics on list 2 please?
Also, where do we cut off the works of the Manic Street Preachers? Many people would agree that some albums would be in list 1, some in list 2, but what's the cut-off point? I'd say anything up to Everything Must Go, but some would draw the turned-shit line earlier. I await clarification from the bluestreak.
Wot no Bluegrass / Soundtrack to Brother where art thou ?!
i fixed that for you."everything must go" was awful, but if you use the general rule of thumb that post band forming = bad, you should be okay.

i fixed that for you.
where would gene pitney go?
do we like him?

Yeah always was a bit of an albatross and a bandwagon for shithead artists to jump on. I used to write for No Depression and we'd always use the expression "alt.country (whatever that is)" which kind of took the piss out of the supposed scene.
NWA is a much finer term.
