One that springs to mind is in the REM song 'Ignoreland', Nineteen eighty, eighty-four, eighty-eight, ninety-two...

Jimi Hendrix, who should have come to be a merman in 1983, doesn't actually sing that in the song .. and Bryan Adams has been known to point out that 'Summer of 69' isn't about the year 1969.

Still, Prince was gonna party like it's 1999.
