You can do that in Morocco in the High Atlas. They have snow in the mountains, the odd chalet with fireplace is available to rent (although it may require a bit of research to find the right one if you want privacy and don't want to be in a sort of guest house with other guests), French wine is widely available and Moroccan food is very tasty. Its not as traditional as Switzerland or as obvious as Canada but it is all there and should be cheaper - plus you can visit Marrakesh.
