I'm back home now. Ended up getting the sleeper train back as there was only one coach every two days and the one I wanted was full. On the way back, at first I had the couchette to myself, which I was very happy with. Spread out, ate some snacks, read my book and fell asleep to the rocking of the train. Until 1am, when I was rudely awoken to three men coming in The Turkish conductor wasn't impressed at this (in Turkey, men and women don't even get put next to each other on the coach, never mind in a sleeper) and was trying to persuade me to move. Couldn't be bothered. Lucky I wasn't sleeping in my underwear. Anyway, had a decent enough night's sleep (bar the usual two hour faff at the border) and was home by 9am. Not bad for less than £30 each way - plus you get drinks and snacks included.
