Show us your draining board/rack

Along with a shit sink, I also have a shit draining rack. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to screw a draining rack to a piece of shoddy wood under a boiler, and then put a metal drip tray undernear, with lip, to catch all the water and go rusty  - the people before me here were clearly bonkers.

Don't do this, kids:

I may be moving in a couple of months so not going to bother fixing it. But my new place also has a shit draining rack so I'm watching this thread with interest.

Some rack porn for you Badgers. Authentically grubby because I couldn’t be bothered to wipe the draining board just for appearances sake.

Draining rack is from Ikea. Small, but big enough for the few things I handwash.

I bought one of those racks from Ikea the other day. It works quite well as it can sit on the bench and leaves the sink drainer free for pans and other bigger stuff

Got this rack thing for £8 at a car boot sale a couple of years ago. It is good for plates/mugs but not great for cutlery or wine/tall classes and hopeless with anything big or heavy.

What is your set up?
Exactly the same...but there will be no pics as my entire sink area is largely overrun with plant stuff (because of nearby window) so there won't be a single inch of gleaming anything.

I have a separate thing for cutlery.

Just upgraded to this bigger one from IKEA

The old one had rusted, but this one is stainless steel so I’m expecting it to last forever, although that’s always a vain hope with IKEA stuff I suppose.

Looks decent 😎

How much and what about cutlery?
I paid 279 Swedish kronor, which is £24 but they ripped me off because I see it’s £15 on the .co.uk website. Must be one of the benefits of Brexit I suppose…

The little cutlery which gets handwashed can just lay on the lower rack, as most stuff goes thru the dishwasher anyway. The rack is for the hand wash items, which often bigger stuff, so a bigger rack should be an improvement.

I just learned this week that drying cupboards are a thing

I had this one but it didn’t fit my drainer so it’s now gone.

I’ve not bothered with one since, I always dry up as soon as I’ve finished washing up.
