Robertson's "Five Star" ginger beer?

Anyone remember it? Is it still made?

I haven't seen it for years.

Think I may remember it but it was nearly always Hay's or home made round here.

Surely it can't just be me and maybe perhaps dimly Pogo? I remember it being the best ginger beer, with no alternatives coming close (Barrs, Solripe, McAlipins etc)

I'm not that old, weepiper. No, the stuff I'm thinking of came in clear glass bottles, and I think was made in Blantyre, rather than Oban.

It seems they were bought by Barrs many years ago, who discontinued the competitor to its own brand ginger beer.

I have recently been enjoying Five Star Auld Scotch Ginger Beer again. It is now made by Dunns Food and Drinks LTD of Blantyre. Which it seems acquired Robertsons of Springwell, who were the manufacturers I remembered.
