Me and me girl named Jane
One of my favorite characters on TV as a kid. I loved on the buses and Blakey used to make me cry with laughter.
He was pretty good as 'Smiler' too in LOTSW

Exactly this. He was only 43 when on the buses started. Worries me somewhat that i'm only 4 years behind blakey when he startedI also thought he'd gone ages ago. So he was only in his mid forties in those 70s eps of On The Buses. He looked well old then.

People generally did look older in those days, though.I also thought he'd gone ages ago. So he was only in his mid forties in those 70s eps of On The Buses. He looked well old then.
That's what all the arrested celebs say anyway...People generally did look older in those days, though.

He was way younger than Reg Varney who was in his 50s at the time playing someone in their 30s chasing birds and thatI also thought he'd gone ages ago. So he was only in his mid forties in those 70s eps of On The Buses. He looked well old then.
While I do not wish the man dead, I have to say that all the characters on On The Buses have always made me feel quite sick.
In fact the whole show has always made me feel sick.
RIP
"some" ? The whole thing is 100% iffy. Those disgustingly ugly old men chasing young girls. The constant degredation of Olive. Yuk.Seconded. I've tried to watch it in the past (wanted to see why it was so fondly remembered) and there were some very iffy "jokes" about women on the show.

Even at the time it made me feel sick - never mind trying to watch it again now.
