RIP Nicholas Parsons

Very sorry to hear, though it was a good age.
A long and interesting career - always thought he seemed a nice guy.
RIP

Oh - thought I'd already posted on this, but it must be another thread.

Anyway, yes, he did well the lad, had no idea he was that old. I very often get the Sale of the Century theme tune as an earworm.

Sad :(

I have an actual Nicholas Parsons anecdote  He was recording JAM in Norwich and happened to be staying at the same hotel I was along with a mate and our OHs as we were bridesmaids at our bezza's wedding the following day. We were just leaving the hotel bar and in front of us there was Parsons. He turned around and saw me and my friend and opened the door to let us through  He then dropped the door in the faces of our OHs :D :D He would have been mid 80s at the time :D

That's sad. I'm not sure how much he really followed what was going on in JAM in recent years (and that was nothing to do with his age ;)). JAM should probably die with him. They carried on with ISIHAC after Humph, but that was a scripted show and it worked. Think JAM would just feel flat without NP, whoever else they had.

I fucking hated JAM.

But have no grievance against Parsons himself, and obviously he was something of an institution. So RIP.

He was virtually the last links to childhood TV everyone else with their own show being already dead or Rolf Harris.

I suppose Lulu's still out there shouting, but fortunately out of my earshot.
