I think the whole experience is about 1.5 hours so not long, the Unity rocket ship gets up to quite a speed under power.

I see this as an extension to Virgin Atlantic, taking paying passengers on an experience.

His other venture, launching satellites from the wing of a 747, seems more commercial. But neither of them are as ambitious as Musk's ventures, by a long shot.

I think as the balloon was going up they could guide it through the different strata of air currents to achieve a position over a preferred jump site, but once up there indeed the only thing is to jump!

More impressive recently was that guy who jumped from an aircraft without a parachute and landed in a net on the ground below. I can't remember his name but that was extreme.
