Question re:disciplinary

I dont know how that is gonna effect that i'd offered my resignation and they ,in effect,forced me to work for them

I know they could of accepted my notice and disciplined me whilst working my notice

Unless this is Gross Misconduct they should not be able to sack you on a first offence. Gross misconduct amounts to grounds for the trust relationship to have completely broken down.
So violent assault, theft, corruption, fraud etc count as gross misconduct for which you can be dismissed for the first offence.
First incident of misconduct (including serious) should get a written warning max. if thisis the first offence.

In this case they could argue that carrying a lighter is gross misconduct only if they had clear procedures that stated that such H&S breaches amount to a dismissable offence. Otherwise a first offence is misconduct only.

However, none of this is relevent if you have not been at work for 12 months plus, because then you would have no legal redress.

inform us that said person is a cunt and why, then let people make up their own minds based upon if they feel its cuntish enough to warrant not helping.

e.g.

if a total nazi fuckturd posts about their kid being addicted to cake and using dirty gear people might still be prepared to offer advice to help the kid despite the OP holding views that they feel are bang out of order.
