Punks were just angry hippies

It was almost 50 years ago, who fucking cares?
Because a lot of it still sounds amazing in various ways (thrilling, exciting, life-affirming) to me and I'm sure many others. That's a valuable thing and is interesting in context.

And a lot of it was subversive of its time, it also resonates there. And it's interesting to look at different times and scenes.

Above all its something to yak about.

They stayed for a little while
Then they went of style
 
Post war jazz groups injected the idea of cool. And Hank Williams had teenagers screaming at him in the late 40s.
 
And here is The Ramones performing a political protest song that they wrote, about the visit of President Reagan to a cemetery containing the graves of Waffen SS troops, in Bitburg. I have only just discovered this.
 
IME, some were also right posers, who turned virtually overnight.

Then some of them evolved into hippies, goths, rockers, ravers, catholic priests etc.
