I know there is probably a thread on this somewhere but I couldn't spot one on the first few pages so I thought I'd start a new one. Feel free to delete or merge if this is superfluous.
I have lived just off Brixton Road all my life. I know (have seen the reporting) that it is one of the most polluted roads in the UK but I never noticed it (possibly due to the lack of smell).
Not today though. The months of lockdown must have reset something. Traffic was at a standstill this morning (presumably because of the roadwork on couldharbour lane) at I was at the bus stop waiting for the 59.
Within about a minute of getting there my throat starting to sting and I had a chemical taste in my mouth. I almost started to retch. I was so glad when the bus arrived.
How long have I been breathing that? Was today exceptionally bad or am I only noticing it now
I was even wearing a face mask at the time!
I may have to break out the plague mask again.
