Pissed off with fake flight prices online

We were trying to book flights on booking.com. Got all the way through to putting in credit card details, when the system said the flights are now several hundred pounds more each.

Was the original price real?

I booked a return flight for my son to New Mexico. My wife used booking.com, and it was a nightmare - in the end, I just booked him directly via BA. I just booked stuff like that directly with the airlines, because I don't have the urge to waste time.

I find Skyscanner much better tbh.

I use Booking.com a lot for hotels and did use them once last year for flights and had some trouble with it. Can't remember what it was now though, but I don't think they bumped the price.

Now I stick to Skyscanner.

Skyscanner.net for flights.
Trivago for accommodation but then go to actual hotel etc website and it's normally cheaper

Don’t like having a middle man with travel so usually book direct. Gives more leeway, especially with hotels
