Mark Lanegan - Bubblegum

Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - Ballad Of The Broken Seas

Let me thunk ...

Q and not U 'Power' (Much missed band - not sure I'd really listened to this album before - so much more going on musically and lyrically than I remember! Love the mix up of medieval minsteral on some tracks and then punk-funk on others :D)
Rapeman 'Two Nuns and a Pack Mule' (Good ... but the best from Albini was still yet to come ;) )
Virgin Prunes 'The Moon Looked Down and Laughed' (Picked this up aaaaaaaaages ago for a few quid, first time I've ever listened to them ... production is a bit too 80s but overall I'm liking)
Frank Black 'Teenager of the Year' (Can't wait to see him do the best of thing at The Empire :D)

Lined up to go ...

Neutral Milk Hotel 'In The Aeroplane Over the Sea'
Boom Bip 'Blue Eyed in the Red Room'
Madlib 'Blunted in the Bomb Shelter Mix'
Frank Black and the Catholics 'Dog in the Sand'

:)

They remind me a lot of Tom Waits actually.

I know what you mean - throw some Beefhart and Zappa style craziness into the mix and that's more or less Man Man :D

They are of the most mental live bands I've ever seen - everyone of them exploding and jumping alll over the place/their instruments at pricesly the right moment - imagine Animal from The Muppets x 6 and you're getting somewhere close :D

I recommend you listen to their 'six demon bag' album (if you haven't already) - you won't be dissapointed
