Clarence 'Frogman' Henry now.

I love this kind of music when I'm cooking.

Things get quite dramatic. :)

On the PC mp3 player, bit of Johnny Cash tearing it up at Folsom Prison in 1969. Before that, Socialist Roots in session in the "angola" region of Kingston, classic soundtape from the '70's.

is that anything to do with the Black Slavery Days/Sound Of St Annes album? like, mid-70s anti-corporate record label roots album?

No, I dont think so. Im not sure exactly what records the Socialist Roots record label released (apart from "Train to Zion"). Socialist Roots was a sound system active in the 1970's in support of Manley and the (then) socialist PNP. Formely known as King Attorney and after the 1981 elections as Papa Roots (after the owner of the set).

Check out this site I made about the sound system, extract from a soundtape on there and the "train to zion" song. I got 4 soundtapes of Socialist Roots and 1 of King Attorney, just havent got round to putting them on MP3 yet, will do *one day* though.

If you like that album Rollem, I've got some wicked burnoffs with him and Slimzee etc. playing out live. I could copy a couple for you if you like.

Some absolutely stonking basslines and Dizzee does some insane chatting on the mic like I've never heard before.
