"The VU&N" still sounds very odd to me even now, ten years or so on from getting it, so fuck knows what those very few who heard it in 1967 thought of it. I do love it though.

turns out it was 8 years ago I bought this (just as the cd was coming out), longer than I thought.
Kicking myself for forgetting about it and never getting round to buying the cd, it's now out of print and going for £25 on amazon:eek:

i spotted a 12 of simply red's 'holding back the years' in the record shop had an adrian sherwood remix of another SR song on the flip.

i didn't buy it. but i'm listening on youtube, and it's not too bad.


after that, i've ray charles' country & western meets rhythm & blues to slip on. :cool: (< that's ray)

& Steel Pulse - Handsworth Revolution (LP)

My record player needs speakers - the built in ones don't really do reggae/dub :(
 
V/A: reggae hits vol 9 (actually a decent comp of early 90s dancehall - cutty, shabba, barrington levy etc all representing...)
