Bunned
Hi just needed someone to shed light on this.
My gf & I don't have tickets for anything, but we are thinking of heading down this weekend

Can tickets for events only be bought Online or street touts too?

If its too late, would we be allowed free into the Olympics village to eat, wander & view the stadia exterior? Or does this require tickets & how much?

If we can't get event tickets, we would like to watch evebts in the village atmosphere on screens, is this ppossible?

Thanks in advance

instead of asking on here why don't you just go to the website? www.tickets.london2012.com

Very few tickets left unless you like footy, boxing or canoe sprint. Ticket only into the Olympic Park, none left last time I looked.

There's that BT London Live thing in Hyde Park if you want to watch it on a big screen.

I have friends over who went down to a park near Tower Bridge today and watched it on a big screen and they enjoyed.

I think it's supposed to be raining tomorrow though

Absolutely gutted, there seems to be no olympics park tickets when I just registered. Didn't bother going for a ballot when they first got released, and now kicking my nuts. Not too bothered about seeing on a london park screen, but would rather be in the olympic park/village. Will try in a couple of days, I guess.

tickets go on sale at midnight every night now before the next day's events (in response to the bitching about empty seats)

I got a ticket for the athletics session with the Men's 5000m, Women's 4x400m relay final and Men's 4x100 relay final (and some other stuff) at midnight last night.

Oh. So you get something fairly interesting at last and you don't text me to tell me about it.

GO TEAM GB.

I haven't had a drink, I'd had one last night though which is partly why I spent £295 on a ticket for the athletics session with the Men's 5000m, Women's 4x400m relay final and Men's 4x100 relay final (and some other stuff) at midnight last night.

Are you going to write

after all your posts hereafter like 'Giles' and 'peace' and 'Dave'?

I really fancy going to something (I'm not sure what) just so I can be a part of it. I saw some interesting stuff that had tickets on Monday night, but couldn't do anything about it at the time because I needed to get to sleep. Needless to say by the time I was able to the tickets had gone. I then had a look at the Paralympics and thought about going to one of the athletics events. But I umed and arred about that for too long and they went too. There's still other days, but I'll be on holiday! I'm too slow.

Edit: Oh, and a question: can you use an out of date passport to pick up tickets?

Oh, just realised there's an official section for this thread, please could mods move it

Anyway, I am finding the tickets site confusing - where would one be seated with a £20 or £45 ticket?

We couldn't go down today, but are seriously thinking of heading down late fri/early saturday...doesn't seem to be much available. With work on Monday, the closing ceremony is out (unless it gets us access to olympic park during sunday day - can't get the answer to this too on the site).

Reckon touts will have *just* park tickets for the sunday, as they appear sold out and never re-released?

 :D

How do they stop you seeing other stuff once you're in the stadium?

I don't know what you mean.

Oh, I think I missed 'athletics session' Those are all the events being run that night and you will see them all. I was thinking you'd bought separate tickets for each. Ignore me*.

*Something you shouldn't find difficult.

£20 or £45 for what? Last time I looked closing ceremony tickets were available for £995 or £1250. Which as far as I'm aware would get you into the Olympic Park on that day but not Sunday. I wouldn't buy from a tout, you might get nicked.

Woman's triathlon was great, saw three events for the price of none, I recommend going to the men's if you can.

I read a weird thing in the paper today. Apparently the two tippety top male athletes in the world in this are a pair of brothers from Yorkshire and they've been officially warned by the Triathlon governing body that if one waits for the other at the finish line -as they have been known to do - so as they go across the line together, they'll both be disqualified.

Crikey. Imagine being one and two in the world at anything with your brother.

The cheaper the ticket the "worse" the view - you pay more to get closer to the action. You always get a seat though. I was at the basketball yesterday on a £20 ticket and I was near the top; still had a great view though.

train tickets down to london double petrol...is driving down to stay over niche niche?
Have you checked out the special Games train ticket website?

Oooookay, silly question that might have been answered elsewhere, but I'm being lazy: can I just visit the Olympic Park, no games? Do I have to buy a ticket for that? Their website only seems to sell tickets for actual events.

No, you need a ticket, of which none are available atm.

Thanks bungle, I thought so after checking the website, but wanted to make sure I hadn't misread it. Bwaah! :(
