ofsted inspection clashing with student exams

got ofsted coming round again in three weeks, problem is that's due to be an exam week for my classes. what's the deal with ofsted and exams, can i refuse a classroom inspection on the grounds that it's inappropriate to observe a class if there's exams being sat? or will i just have to reschedule?

i don't know if it's my classes that will be inspected, but probably as i teach the most hours out of all of us. i was observed last time round, will that make any difference, will they want to see someone else this time?

not too bothered about them coming, just don't want my classes being disrupted

I suppose it depends on what sorts of exams (functional skills is in three weeks isn't it? - first Edexcel window is anyway) and how much/how official the notice given to the students was. If there just ones you make up and the impact on their learning if you put them back a week is nowt then I think you'd be expected to move them I suppose.

Do ofsted also check up on how exams are being delivered? I guess it's part of assessment so I'd drill the students mercilessly on the exam rules. You don't want a mobile going off with an Ofsted inspector there.

i set exams as and when the students are ready to take them, so that week i'm expecting about 1/2 the class to be sitting their first set. my SOW will show that week six is an exam week, but normal tutorials will also be continuing. trouble is my curriculum manager is completely clueless, so i've never known if having half the class sit exams while the other half continue quiet revision is allowable. OCR guidance.. "assignments must be completed under supervised conditions in a quiet, business-like atmosphere."

i've no idea how ofsted view exam inspection clashes, hence the thread
