Office upgrade - now significantly more attractive to birds

It’s part of a double whammy, each of which has so far attracted 0 birds.

Even the usual magpies aren’t out there this morning. Perhaps they don’t like going out when it’s cold.

Are the feeders attached to the window? If so, aren't you worried about birds crashing into the window? I would be - after cats. windows are the number one risk to birds.

I put up a new bird station on Sunday from aldi (£14.99 bargain, with all the bits) haven't seen a single bird at it yet everything still full!!

We have about 30kg at home, so will bring in refills as appropriate.

Should also probably try not to leave them up overnight, because drunk students.

But what will the poor starving birds do for breakfast, unless you're going to put them back up before dawn? :(

There's enough sunflower seeds there to last my Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits and Nuthatches about 3 minutes and 35 seconds.

Don't they just love the sunflower seeds!

Regular seeds last 4-5 days (now I've worked out a way to stop the pigeon being able to gorge on them), sunflower seeds about 500g lasts a morning If we're lucky.

Looking forward to Mrs Q's update:

I have considered scattering some seeds more broadly, to give them the idea. (We scatter them on our driveway, so sparrows can eat without being attacked / shoved off by starlings).

We (the toddler and I) bought two sacks of carrion yesterday. (Well. Bags of “dried mealworm and shrimp.” Which smells pretty much as awful as the name suggests.)

I may bring some of that in to chuck around, as we’ve mostly got corvids and magpies out front, and I reckon they’d be more tempted by stinky corpses than by seeds.
