Newquay to Belfast - is there a better route than this?

iona

idle and disorderly
I have a thing in Newquay that finishes at some point in the afternoon on Feb 6th. I need to be in Belfast the next morning. There are no direct flights at this time of year and no flights via London at a time that works for me.

So far I've found a train that gets back to London at midnight, and then I could get a coach from Victoria to Luton and fly from there at 7am. Anyone got a better idea that would involve me getting more than 2 hours sleep at a time?

Can you fly from Bristol or Exeter airports?

Is it possible to hire a car from NQ and leave it at another airport?

I don't drive. Just had a look at Bristol and Exeter and there aren't any flights at times that work for me, but thanks.

Southampton Airport with Flybe, flight time is 5pm. Although it's indirect via Manchester.

Bristol to Dublin 1400 - 1505 ~£90 on Ryanair. Trains Dublin to Belfast is approx. 2.5 hours, and ~€25.

Newquay to Belfast... I guess you'd have to actually leave Newquay at 1100 ish :hmm:

Also since getting out of Newquay to another airport looks like hell, why not fly from there with Flybe at 14.45 to Manchester (6pm) and on to Belfast on the last flight. You'll have to book them separately.

6FEB Newquay to Liverpool 1501 - 2330 by train
15:01 Newquay [NQY]Platform 1

Liverpool Lime Street [LIV]Platform 6 23:30 8h 29m
3 changes
15:01 service from Newquay to Liverpool Lime Street
Single Fare
£177.90
Nice nap in Liverpool in an hotel
7FEB Liverpool to Belfast 0950 - 1040 on easyjet

Edit: iona, it's not going to be super cheap. Train is £177, flight is £100, hotel is £90... say a guestimate of £400!! And where is home, assume it's not in Belfast? Something might have to give.

Was gonna suggest this.

Unless whatever it is can't be finished by 2pm.

Check in isn't long in NQ - it is just a shed next to a runway pretty much with a 5 quid tourist tax you have to pay to leave - at least you did last time I flew.

You can do it the same day if you do some running in Frankfurt.

BE354 14:45 Newquay to Manchester 16:00
LH947 18:05 Manchester to Frankfurt 20:45
LH982 21:45 Frankfurt to Dublin 22:50

Still happenign appaz "Please note - All flights departing from Newquay Airport for travel until 31MAR16 are subject to a GBP5.00 development fee, per passenger. This is an airport charge and will be collected at the airport. This is not a Flybe charge and has not been added to the cost of your booking."

I can't guarantee I'll be finished in Newquay before 4pm (really hoping it's not any later than that or I might have to miss some fights..). Can't know for sure what time I need to be at the venue in Belfast until they release the schedule, but could be around 9:30-10am.

Looks like it's gonna be Luton :(
