Music Making Question: Looking for (cheap) sample libraries

I wanted some old school sounds, by old school i mean ancient. Literally. Medieval percussion, scary folk instruments made out of goat skulls, and horns used to summon dark spirits. The sort of stuff you won't find on a Korg M1

Unfortuantely everything I can find is either a) really expensive or b) requires Kontakt or both. Usually both.

Maybe some of the creative types around here could help.

I have been listening to entirely too much Dungeon Synth, and Waradruna.
