I loved this series. I do find it disturbing how fundamentally Christian the USA is. Well some of it. Mind you that Christian family she met were nice. When the mother of the family cried due to Miriam not having any faith. I felt like crying myself at her pious attitude. Those people will never see the bigger picture and I find that rather sad. No one really knows what's going on in the universe for sure.
A few years ago I got interested in a holiday let 'cottage' perched on the cliffs near Dover.
My interest was sparked by the info that Peter Ustinov was stationed there when it was a gun emplacement during WW2.
After the war it seems he liked it so much he bought it from the MOD and turned it into a holiday home.
I just thought it seemed unusual, and that's the sort of thing I go for.
After a few emails I established the owner lived in Australia, but then communication started coming by phone and I realised it was Miriam Margolyes.
Everything got a bit more lighthearted and some banter ensued.
Anyway we stayed there and however much she says it's dog friendly it certainly wasn't dog safe, the front garden had no fencing and it was a 300ft sheer drop down the cliff. The Gun Emplacement Home
