Microsoft Teams Help Arrgh.

Going back to Safari...does it have access to your camera> Google tells me it's Open Safari Settings. Navigate to Websites. Go to the Camera and Microphone tabs. Change access to Allow.
I did check that. It did have access yes. . . but no, it didn't work.

If you only have to sign in to Teams (or any Microsoft rubbish, it even happens on Xbox and Minecraft) twice then it's working relatively well.
It took an hour of it telling me it would not accept a personal email before opening a screen (without me prompting it) to say I had an account linked to a personal email that I should use.
It's well shit.

I've very little experience of Macs, but what I'd be tempted to do is uninstall Teams and reinstall it.

I've had very similar issues with Teams before - it hates combining work and corporate accounts, and once you've linked it with one or the other it can seem impossible to change - I remember getting stuck in endless login loops.

I'd be thinking long and hard about working for a company that uses Microsoft Teams as its preferred method of communication. :D
Really it's fine (once working). It integrates well with office 365. Pretty much everywhere uses it outside the cooler tech companies it seems.

They also want to use editing software that I hate, so I am already in that mindset. It's not my dream job, but beggars can't be choosers. . .

. . Let's also not forget this is an interview, they haven't offered me anything yet.

There are two different builds of teams or were, of course on domestic laptops it came with the non business version which made building it fun for when you wanted to build one for corporate use (no we didn’t use an image)

The best approach is alway wipe O365 installs and start again if you run into issues with it trying to mess around with licensing

we should set up a teams meeting so you can share your screen

The Mac app on the laptop works OK for me, but as mentioned by others, switching between accounts can be a nightmare...so sometimes I'm in meetings using the wrong company account.

For months it asked if I was happy to continue with new teams when I switched it on...it seemed like Microsoft were being a bit self-conscious, knowing the new version was even worse than the old one. I did delete the old version as it was possible to have both running at the same time.

My current version is Version 24193.1707.3028.4282 (24193.1707.3028.4282)

Honestly if they hadn't said anything, most people wouldn't have noticed.

See thats the third version

And its made even more complicated when you realise its built on top of Skype which is built on top of Lync.

Look just redo from start its easier than explaining

My recommendation (as someone who has 3 Teams accounts 😭 ) is to start a meeting with yourself so you can check video and sound set up. And maybe ask someone you know to set up a meeting with you too before the interview.

My business email address is a gmail one and it wouldn’t work with teams at all despite me setting it up and it looking fine. The only way I could get it to work was by sending my prospective client an invitation as she couldn’t hear or see me when I accepted hers.

It works great within and across organisations for companies who are Microsoft dependent. For everyone else it’s a bag of shite.

Curious, I was on a teams call yesterday using Safari with no issue...it just gave me the choice of downloading the app of using the web version...
I think it was an issue with a previous Microsoft account I had on a job.
It does still keep telling me it won't work on my safari (but then does) . . . It also says my teams app needs updating before it works, but it is now working and won't let me update anyway. I'll try it again tomorrow and invite my wife to s teams meeting. Interview is not until Friday.

Were you initially opening it in Safari or Apple's version of Internet Explorer? It looks like you were clicking on the link and it was automatically taking you to IE, which is no longer supported. So opening it directly in Safari would work, and so would making sure it opens in Safari when you click on an invite.

Unless I'm misreading something...

Safari 15 didn't work for me either. Teams claims not to support it, despite Microsoft's docs saying it does. Almost like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Only Safari

I was only using Safari or the already installed app. Neither worked. . . . but then they did. . . and then they worked in various different ways with different results. I changed absolutely nothing on my end.

I wonder why it said your version of Internet Explorer wasn't supported, then, if it never tried to open with it? So weird

It opened and said it wasn't supported. It only had audio, no video. . . but didn't seem to be working at all anyway. I never fully tested it. I tried to open the app, but it said I could not use my domestic email address.
. . . it then said I could and that I was registered with the google mail address it previously said was not valid.

Have you uninstalled it yet?

Have you uninstalled it yet?
No.

But I have had the interview.
Even though it looked like screen share was working they just asked for you tube links anyway.

it worked fine other than crashing about 10 minutes in to the interview. Annoyingly my mouse batteries also died so I had to scramble around to find some to get the app up again. . . . I have only just realised that I could have just used the track pad on my MacBook Pro (which is my computer connected to a thunderbolt screen).
