"Next Saturday 24th noon at Southbank, by the monument to the international brigades in Jubilee Gardens, we´ll gather to honour the memory of Carlos, an antifascist who was killed two weeks ago by a nazi in Madrid.

On November the 11th a nazi party called a demonstration against inmigrants in a working class area of Madrid, a neighbourhood where workers from many parts of the wolrd live. This racist provocation had been authorised by the government. To protest against this, many antifascists gathered to defend the area. While on his way there, Carlos was stabbed in the heart by a nazi with a hunting knife. He bleed to death on an underground platform. He was sixteen. Another friend of his, Alex, was also stabbed and is recovering in hospital from a chest wound.

In the last week alone there were up to five fascist and nazi demos in Madrid, four of which were authorised by the governement. The antifascist platform had called for one on the 24th which has been banned. On that same day, we will gather to honour the memory of our comrade Carlos, and to protest the criminalisation of the antifascist movement by the spanish authorities and the media.

Not really - its just not in there. I don't think it is a glaring omission, and i think it may as yet be a bad idea to see it as fight, lets leave that to the trial(s). Some papers are already trying to call this a gang fight between rival skinheads, which i personally find insulting, especially in a country that was fascist for so long. You don't look at a group of young nazis prowling around and go - oh well, boys will be boys.

This has been dealt with, but it was addressed to me so i will reply.

From a very informal report i think they approached a nazi over something he was wearing and he stabbed them. Logically, if they had just jumped the nazi suddenly he probably would not have had time to pull the knife. Thinking about how carlos was stabbed, it seems like a very measured blow, straight into the heart.

As an antifascist he would have confronted a person wearing nazi regalia regardless of whether that's what happened on the night or not.

This is an act of bravery, and we salute him for it.

At the end of the day, violence and confrontaion are not 'all relative', the reasons behind them are always relevant. I personally believe antifascism is for all our sakes.

not to my knowledge. The only reason for that is there's not been a call for it by spanish comrades.

In all honesty i think the movement over there will see him proud, but if there is any opportunity to contribute i will certainly post it up.
