I'm trying to understand pitch types better, as the commentators use the terms so flippantly. It's not easy though.

When you read some of the definitions of them some of the differences seem so subtle. I'm sure I saw a video once where even the commentators were disagreeing on whether a particular pitch was this or that.

This is useful though as it has batter's view diagrams:

That must be pretty old, as it mentions Pedro Martinez in the present tense, and I remember him pitching for the Red Sox twenty years ago.

Still all valid, I'm sure, though.

I've also finally worked out that a foul isn't a strike if the hitter already has two strikes, but is if he hasn't yet.

What a classic to settle it. Yankees will be haunted by that fifth innings meltdown after being 5-0 up for a long time though.
