Avoid near Liverpool St.I need to meet a friend tomorrow in a decent pub that won't be too hectic, the last working week before Christmas!
Any suggestions? Must be central-ish or somewhere off the Victoria line or near Liverpool Street.
We were supposed to be meeting in Farringdon but I think it will be too mental.Avoid near Liverpool St.
Ah, I noticed you had good suggestions on the Soho thread.I usually get my info off other people tbf, it's been a while since I was drinking in those locations.
If anything comes to mind, I'll let you know.
thats good advice, though i went here the other day and liked it a lotAvoid near Liverpool St.

Think everywhere will be, just LP pubs have way more than their fair share of tossers. We were supposed to be meeting in Farringdon but I think it will be too mental.

I wonder if VICE still own that place? Anyone know?I really enjoyed my time in the Blue Posts recently. It was quite busy (with an unexpected band upstairs) but had proper old school pub vibes.

You're thinking of the Old Blue Last. Different pub entirely.I wonder if VICE still own that place? Anyone know?
my mistake! blue and gigs made me draw conclusion...You're thinking of the Old Blue Last. Different pub entirely.
The History of the Best Bar in London, Which We Happen to Own
You might not be aware that VICE UK has its own bar. It’s called The Old Blue Last and it used to be a brothel before we acquired it. Still, it was a bar for 300 years before that, and even Shakespeare used to hang out there.www.vice.com
They did do a piece on the Blue Posts last year after some shitty Tik Tok nonsense
I Visited the Pub That Everybody Loves to Hate
Actual pub-goers from The Blue Posts chime in on those bloody viral TikToks about “London pub culture” and “pints, chit-chat and good people”.www.vice.com
I'm not inclined to go anywhere that's associated with Vice!my mistake! blue and gigs made me draw conclusion...
i do wonder if they still run it though..
What time are you meeting?Chances of getting a seat?

OK so the immediate after work crowd are likely to have gone home by then. I'd go for somewhere near Victoria itself, on the basis that it isn't a cool evening destination, just an after work commuter drinking place.
Also we could walk over a bridge if indoors was too awful.OK so the immediate after work crowd are likely to have gone home by then. I'd go for somewhere near Victoria itself, on the basis that it isn't a cool evening destination, just an after work commuter drinking place.
Dunno. But there are technically 3 floors.Chances of getting a seat?
Ooh, contender. Thanks klang.Dunno. But there are technically 3 floors.
It's very nice.
Does it have to be a pub? Round there I reckon your best chances of getting a seat and being able to hear each other is the bar at the Curzon cinema. Also we could walk over a bridge if indoors was too awful.
Got any suggestions? I really don't know pubs.
Or try to book a bar table here (Vauxhall):Does it have to be a pub? Round there I reckon your best chances of getting a seat and being able to hear each other is the bar at the Curzon cinema.
