So this the second time that the Bavaria brewery has pulled this 'ambush marketing' stunt.

What surprises me is why a Dutch brewery calls itself Bavaria. Was there a putsch in the beer world some time in the past?

Apparently doing this in SA (turning up wearing colours of a particular brand etc) is actually a criminal offence!

This is crazy, that the police can arrest people for drinking Pepsi, or wearing certain clothes, or stuff that isn't generally illegal.

I mean, its one thing for the stadium or events promoter to refuse to let someone in (it is a private event, after all, and they can reserve the right of admission) but why is it a police matter????

Enacting this sort of stupid law gets you the World Cup. If you don't then they will go somewhere they can get that law enacted.

The absurd thing isn't even that it's a criminal offence to wear 'Pepsi' - not civil, which is crazy enough - but that it contradicts the South African Constitution as well.

I mean, wearing branding . . . a criminal offence . . . and look at those photos to see the kind of branding . . . beyond parody.
