Lock picking goes hi-tech with a wi-fi smartkey

It's obviously still out of trach for your casual thief, but this tech is pretty clever.
Ten seconds to scan the lock and the come back with your key and you're in.

It is cool. Although I am fairly convinced that the lockpicking lawyer could probably open most locks through sheer intimidation at this point.

Lock picking is a hobby of mine. This looks like a useful tool but the lock he has chosen is a pretty straightforward one. A twin pin sided deadlock would take a different approach.

I went down the YouTube lockpicking rabbit hole in December

incredible stuff they do. Hours of watching. And you realise how bonk most locks and security devices are. In particular hotel room safes

the real experts have a “bucket” of locks they can’t pick, they share them around on vid to try and get them open

it makes the standard U.K. locksmith drill and replace routine very ordinary

I locked myself out a few weeks back and had to call locksmiths. They have some pretty techie tools these days and surprisingly it’s not that expensive. Still took him 45 mins to pick the lock mind.

Don’t think the tools in that video are overly expensive even for a serial burglar. Scary.
