The plot goes something like man and family arrive in California looking for work and a new life. Some new neighbour promises them free food in return for him cutting corn down. Every week a package arrives for them. Transpires when he cut corn people died....and his family die too. So he gets proper mad and cuts down loads of corn, and it turns out to be an allegory for WW2.
