Or do you have something specific to say about Bellos, that can't be said of every other leader?

Feel free to post pictures of all who led Lambeth Council while 'sexual abuse on an industrial scale' was taking place in it's children's homes. Apparently, some of them are now earning a living as 'diversity' 'consultants'.

You're either missing my point entirely - that they're all complicit - or you're being disingenuous. I strongly suspect the latter.

A lot of the stuff being tweeted seems recycled to me.
This story seems like a variant of the Town Hall basement porn videos, which was a big thing around early 1995 (I think I have the date right).

After Herman Ousley resigned as Chief Exec, Henry Gilby was appointed - promoted from Director of Environmental Services. It was actually a period of some instability in the council. Councillors persuaded Gilby to take early retirement so they could get in a completely new person.

While doing this super-recruitment they engaged a woman called Sari Conway as "Interim" chief executive.
Here is a low definition South London Press clipping (7th April 1995) which show she was apparently onto the Town Hall porn gang.

Of course after the appointment of the miraculously gifted Heather Rabbats as Chief Exec people then claimed that Sari Conway had been got rid of to stop the investigation.

It will be interesting to see whether the current investigation has anything to say on that.
 
BBC update:

Social services were told not to be "too rigorous" with a convicted sex abuser's application to be a foster parent, an investigation has heard.

The abuser ran parts of a Lambeth children's home, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse heard.

Shirley Oaks children's home had up to 350 residents under the age of 17 living there until its closure in 1983.

Barristers representing victims accused Lambeth Council of knowing about the abuse, but doing nothing.

The inquiry hearing, which is due to last four weeks, is investigating whether there were child protection failures by public authorities.

Cllr Holland saying this administration is child centred.

What a load of bollocks.

Given the arguments I and other locals have had over adventure playgrounds.

The Council don’t support child centred activities. The don't fund them and don't give them ongoing support.

They take credit for them. But in practise a lot of child centred activities depend on voluntary effort and fund raising. At most organisations get Council owned premises at pepper corn rent.

Some of course saying it partly the disagreements between the labour council and Tory government that was one of the failings.

Lambeth Council has announced that children in foster care who were abused by their fosterers - & it happened a lot in Lambeth, especially if you were female - WON'T qualify for reparations.They should, but Lambeth Council know that if they included children abused in foster care, then the £100 million they borrowed from the Public Works Loans Board a couple of yrs ago, wouldn't be nearly enough. This means that foster kids who were abused would have to take expensive individual court action against LBL.
