Kings and Queens of Brixton

Evening all, hope you are doing well?

When I walk down Saltoun and Kellett roads, I've often wondered about the key stones on these houses. As far as I know, they are unique in Brixton?

Anyway, does anyone know who they represent? Are they kings and queens of Britain and perhaps a more difficult question, why are they there?!

I can’t answer most of your questions but they weren't unique to Brixton as you can see in this pic of the now demolished St Agnes Placein Kennington...
