Kathy Burke's All Woman

I was at school with KB - she was in my sister's year and even in a girls convent school full of the mean girls, she was an icon. Exactly the same as she is now. Loved her from afar. Bumped into her in a Camden pub many years later and we chatted about school. 'Fucking hated that place' - Big Jo (aka Sister Josephine, Mother Superior, definitely related to the Sopranos) told her she was far too opinionated to ever be liked! Just loved, respected and revered then...

Just watched this and really enjoyed it. I was struck by the way she didn't talk down to any of the women she was talking to but took everything they said seriously and then tried to encourage them and boost their confidence in being themselves/

The show has delivered and some.
Some great quotes (paraphrasing) "I would be good mother because I have big squishy boobs?"

I caught up on episode three last night. The only disappointment was her not pressing in her gentle friendly manner why the married man of 60 years only started helping his wife after he retired. But apart from that a great episode again. I delight in watching her move from her initial position and empathise without judgement with those she speaks to. But she is confident enough in her own self to move back to her own position.

We need to see/hear more of Kathy Burke. And I'll be listening to those podcasts soon. Thanks to those who posted links.

I know it's just dropped off All4 tonight so I just caught the last one before it went. Fuck me I'd love to sit around smoking fags and drinking gallons of tea with her. She's so very right and I've been telling mates who have left relationships for years that the best thing you can do is stay single for a while and find out who you really are. It's fucking great!

I'd be surprised if there isn't another series. I only ever saw people praising it.
