Thinking of doing a solo short trip next week. I don’t tend to travel much on my own. Looks interesting. Ramadan is on and all good.

What’s worth a look there? Which side to get a place to stay?

It's forty years since I did an unexpected night-stop in Istanbul, when I visited the Blue Mosque and the underground water storage system for the city, both of them wonderful places to see. If I'd had longer I'd have gone out to the Topkapi Palace. I don't suppose that much has changed. I have no idea where the hotel was but I woke up to a fantastic view of the Sun rising over the Golden Horn.
