Is there a rule of thumb for fan ovens?

If something is 1.5hrs in a normal oven is there a simple rule of thumb for how much shorter it will take to cook in a fan oven?

Dont know about time but we usually cook things about 20 degrees less.

My oven has a fan but I don't know whether it's fan assisted or not. Also all the numbers round the oven dials have worn off. On the other hand I've been cooking in it for at least 8 years so I know its little quirks and ways.
