I went to a 'traditional Irish boozer' in Naples where nobody Irish existed. It was still the best place to get a drink in Naples.

There's (or there was, pre-covid) plenty of "Irish" and "British" pubs around, where there's a bit of confusion. Have seen a Union Jack flag in an "Irish" bar here and something called an "Irish car bomb" drink in some of these hybrid hostelries. Some of these places are just cash ins on the idea that western style places are "cool". But there's plenty of decent ones, too. Often Irish or British run, or run by people who know a bit about the culture they're promoting.

Yes. A load of Indian-Irish and Korean-Irish folk jetted out to the other side of the world to work in an Irish pub. Sounds feasible.

I know them. They're Korean and Indian. One of them is a mate and engaged to another friend of mine who is actually Irish, but doesn't work there.

That sort of thing impressed or at least shocked me as a child in the 70s. However, I don't have a TV and probably half the people I know don't have one either.
