Is it worth buying an XB1 for Gears 5?

I really liked the franchiseon 360, but I ended up with a ps4 for this generation. Unfortuiantely I don't enjoy the games at all. Thinking about getting a used xb1 and Gears 5 (possibly 4 as well as its dirt cheap). Thoughts?

I bought a Xbox one with the full set of Gears, from 1 to 5. I should probably have read the description before buying it, as all the games had to be downloaded
I have 4 and 5 so far. if you're into gears, I'd buy it just for that. The graphics are shit hot.

I saw that package and wondered the same. Downlaods like that are way too much for my shitty internet.

ETA just seen you have shitty internets :-(

if you have a half decent pc or a decent internet connection you can do a couple of things..

1. if a win 10 PC then join xbox game pass for a starting offer of £2 for 2 months , and you can play gears 5 as thats included or...

do what i do ,

2. I have a low spec pc but use shadow pc ( I have a decent internet connection , but you only really need 40Mb )

Shadow pc is a full gaming pc you rent for , so not only can you game on it , you can do anything you would on a win 10 pc, it has a gtx 1080 , 12 Gb ram and the equivalent of an i5 processor ( I think ) , this costs £24.95 a month, takes a few days to set up, but its great , really really great.

I started a thread about it but loads of peeps poo poo-ed it, but fuck em, it the bollocks and upgrades are coming very soon.

Then do step 1, so you can play Gears 5 all bells and whistles for £27.95, you can also use it on android phones and tabs and ipads / phones with a blue tooth game pad

PM me for a 10-er off your first month if you want to try ( i'm not selling the idea for the referal, although it will get me a 10-er off for a month.:) )

so either option will save you getting an xbox one

My PC couldn't run Gears. At all. I can't even run the games I used to play. It's a laptop that threatens to go up in flames if I try and run something like Starcraft 2 again.

I have never heard of Shadow PC. Seems a bit like dead money to me. £25 a month when surely you'd be better off just buying the xb1 (or even a pc if that's your thing, whatever). How does that work? What do you mean by 40mb?

Shadow - Turn any device into a Gaming PC

ETA , your shadow pc has a 1Gb connection , 60GB of gears 5 downloaded in about 25 mins

40 MB/s internet connection so you can connect to it, although it does work from 15Mb/s but the compression is higher

£25.00 per month to use a £1500 pc for not just gaming, that is upgraded automatically when newer hardware comes out.

New tiers are being tested at the moment so around the end of the year it will be cheaper to have the same vpc as I am using, an upgraded version for the same price , and a higher ultra tier that I dont know much about which will cost more.

I've been working in It for 20 years , have been building gaming PC's since before then, and this is the best service I have seen \ used.

I too have a shitty internet connection. It took me 4 days to download gears 4 and 5.
I bought BF5 second hand, found out it wanted to download the entire 50gb game. Got 24 hours and 20gb through, switched off and it deleted the entire download thus far.

I sold the game on.

Full game downloads are just not an option for me

The good thing with the Xbox one is you can pause and resume downloads. You can even leave it downloading whilst the console is effectively turned off. I let mine download while I was in bed, as I couldn't let it consume my awake time bandwidth.

You can on the ps4, but not in this case.

Or maybe you're meant to press pause before shutting down the console (though I've gotten away with that before).

I'm just bnored of the PS4 tbh. I'd also like to play cd's which it won't
