I need suggestions for a 10 day winter break

Well I was thinking I could go somewhere else for a week and then meet them there for a week to do some diving and chilling out.
At Christmas I'm going on a liveaboard boat which will cruise around various interesting dive sites in the Maldives. It promises to be quite an experience, with turtles, sharks and manta rays.

Im scared of sharks :(

Defo can't afford liveaboards either

How about the west of Ireland? An air bnb...in Mayo...Way cheaper than Dublin and you can enjoy mountains and the sea...at the same time.
Weather could be an issue but if you're into hill walking or any water sports you'd enjoy it.

So I'm in need of recomendations...... I was thinking about going to visit freinds who are going to be a Palolem beach, but I've been told there's not huge amounts to do near it, the SCUBA diving is shite, and it will be off season, so not everything will be open.

So two weeks in Dec, I need suggestions!!

Whats Sarajevo and Mostar like? I'm thinking I could go there for 5 days or so pretty cheap, and then a few days in Paris in between xmas and new year.

Has anyone been to Cape Verde, off Senegal?
We've looked at it a few times and some friends went last year. If you're not into lying on a beach all day it's quite challenging to get around between the islands and the landscape is quite barren. Good for hiking though but you need to research the place thoroughly before you go to make sure you're staying where you need to be. We decided to give it a miss.

One of my punters did last January, she loved it, but she’s easily pleased. Beaches are nice, sea is very cold though. She was with a new fella, so I’m guessing they spent most of the time shagging, which would make you enjoy most places.

Bump

Mrs mx is having a hard time at work. The company she is working for is being taken over, and she's working her socks off doing due diligence stuff. and it's only her (and the owner) who know about it officially, so its all a bit stressful frankly. Completion is this week, she can't disappear on holiday for a while, so we are looking at first week of December.

We did Marrakech in Feb a couple of years ago, which was good, but there was too much to do, so wasn't restful as such. Malta/Crete/southern Spain/Portugal look OK, but not quite warm enough to just lounge by the pool, and too many things to do. Reckon if we go as far as Agadir, we may as well go as far as Cape Verdi.

Cape Verdi looks warm. And apart from a walk along the beach, there appears to be bugger all to do.

anyone been in the last year or so? any other ideas?

Egypt though I think it’s just Hurghada flights from uk go to just now. Would be warm, fab snorkelling , massages, lounging & Luxor is not far away.
