Any HR people please.

Do offences that were later dropped i.e no further action taken show up on a DBS? There's a job i'd like to apply for but there is a few thing regarding dishonesty that I was arrested for but never charged.

TIA

A DBS shows convictions and cautions, so if you weren't charged with anything or accepted a caution, it won't show.

There is an 'enhanced' and 'enhanced with list' check too. The enhanced can show up extra stuff and the 'with list' one checks some barred lists (not sure what that is TBH).

If you are doing an enhanced check, the stuff you mentioned might show up.

i'm not an hr person but i used to be involved with this sort of thing for taxi drivers (and further caveat, it was when it was crb not dbs)

the 'barred lists' are about people who have not been convicted, but are barred from working with children and / or vulnerable adults.

the only 'non conviction' info i ever saw related to allegations of sex offences, not alleged dishonesty.

if the role you're going for is a working with children sort of thing, i would not have thought a dishonesty allegation would show.

if you're going for something law enforcement / financial regulation i suppose it might... may be worth trying to contact dbs and ask?

Depends on the level of DBS and if the arrests show up, what type of dishonesty was involved and how long ago it was.

The employer should have a policy on how it deals with staff vetting, including what happens when adverse findings appear on a DBS cert. Where I work there is some discretion for lower-level offences, etc.
