House price crash

There's a notable drop in For Sale signs around here and I got a phone message the other week from the agents who sold us this place 8 years ago, presumably wanting to ask if there's any chance we want to sell up. I'm guessing they're going through their books from 5+ years ago in the hope that someone might be thinking of selling.
We get a leaflet pushed through the door at least every couple of weeks from various estate agents touting for business.

Thought this may be of interest.
Today’s #chartoftheday shows the countries where house prices are on the decline.

Two-thirds of the economies for which the OECD tracks housing prices saw declines for their most recent quarter of available data.

Presumably there is always seasonality in house sales with the market cooling down in the last quarter of the year?

I think it's usually the other way round, in that people don't put their house on the market in the last quarter, because they don't want to be moving just before Christmas, don't want the disruption of allowing viewings at such a busy time of year, domestically speaking. So people often put their properties on the market in the new year.

After moving at Christmas 2022 I’m never wanting to do that again.

Though it was a great excuse not to worry about going anywhere and buying presents
