House of Lords to move to York & the House of Commons to go on tour.

If this goes ahead, I’m guessing this could impact house prices in York and surrounding areas?

There'd be a killing to be made on longer-term rental property, which would have a significant impact on house prices.

Personally I think York simply isn't big enough to cope with the added infrastructure - but Leeds could, as could Newcastle..

Yeah, but nonetheless I think moving the HOL up North is a very good idea.

Only been there once but my impression was of a town, not a city. It's not even the county town of the county that's named after it.

It's a city, population about 200k, but size doesn't matter.

Look at the City of Wells in Somerset, population about 12k, and where Taunton is the county town.
