So
We curently have Sky broadband - and have managed to get it running all over the house (because they have given me a couple of booster boxes + the Sky Q box and mini box (I think) act as mesh extenders).
But it comes in through the copper and max speed is 30mbps
Have just got a Three 5g router. Which gives seems to get up of 900MBPS - lovely
The end game is to bin the Sky contract and move to the Three one - (same price - 30 times faster) but.....
The Huewei Router from Three seems to have limited range - even on 2GHZ
What is best answer?: is it
a) somehow get the 5G router to "feed" the Sky network - (noting that end game is to kill the Sky broadband, but I reckon I should be able to hang on to the "rented" router as I seem to have a "spare" to return to them)
If so, how?
b) Buy a dedicated set of Mesh network things (TP Link, Deco, Netgear Orbit, something else) and add them to the new Three 5G network
Is so how?
c) else
Don't mind throwing a bit of money at it to get it working properly (including replacing the Hawaii 5Grouter if there is a better alternative that works off the SIM). But don't like being beholden to expensive monthly commitments.)
Properly means fast and robust everywhere
Really really want to end up with just one network so that all the devices can talk to each other and there is not dropping between various networks
Want to learn a bit more about it - what is a useful resource? Google just seems to throw up loads of conflicting specific Q & A
thanks
