Help Wifi wont connect to internet on laptop

If your little USB socket is a USB-C socket, you can get plug-in ethernet adaptors that work pretty well. My new work laptop came without ethernet, so when I want a cabled connection (some work software won't work over WiFi) and HDMI for a second monitor, I'm reliant on an adaptor that does both.

If your onboard adaptor is failing, you can get cheap little wifi adaptors that plug-in to USB and work ok, although IME there is a bit of a speed hit compared to USB-C. They worked well enough on an old laptop to keep me going for a fair while until I sourced an new WiFi card for it.
