I have read about that quite recently, and seen something on television also. Can't recall exactly what I read though.

Jean-Claude Pressac was a holocaust denier and chemist, hired by Faurisson to visit Auschwitz and use his professional expertise to uncover the lies of gas chambers etc. The evidence he found overwhelmed him and he published a book outlining his findings. Only a 1000 were printed by a private foundation. The text of this is available here. (There are some rubbish versions on archive.org too)

Wasn't Pressac heavily criticised by some for his rather 'emotionless' writing? But he replied he was looking for evidence and not accounts so when he found the evidence he presented it rather scientifically and therefore rather clinically?!

Yes, Lanzmann in particular tried to stir up a movement against both him and the book because he took the purely technical nature of the book as an affront and an implicit criticism of the 9-10 hours of his Shoa which contained a single scene of (semi) documentary evidence.

Aaah right, did wonder if it was Lanzmann because I semi remember him saying he'd more believe one angry man than a line of Pressacs evidence? I may have this out of context.
I don't get his point though given Pressac clearly does not attempt in any way to downplay the horrors of the Holocaust he merely uses a scientific method, not a surprise given his profession, to make clear it happened.

They probably don't mention it in this thread because it's not what this thread is about. If you were to try starting a thread about it along the same lines as this one you might find that plenty of posters have something to say or a book/film/etc. to recommend on the subject.

Trying to do some research on the biggest ever holocaust in human history - The Native American indian holocaust but, I have trouble trying to get estimated figures, I think it's somewhere between 20 - 100 million.
Has anyone else on here ever done any detailed research into the Native American holocaust?

I've just started reading Antisemitism Before and Since the Holocaust: Altered Contexts and Recent Perspectives ed by Anthony McElligott and Jeffrey Herf - the first chapter is a set of preliminary remarks by Deborah Lipstadt. In this she outlines the basic premises of traditional or “hard-core” Holocaust denial. Thought it may be useful to post:
- There was no attempt by the Third Reich to wipe out the Jews of Europe.
- Some Jews may have suffered and even been killed but they were not singled out for mass annihilation.
- Those Jews who were persecuted were deserving of what was done to them. German Jews were engaged in such nefarious activities that the German regime’s hostility toward them was legitimate. Those Jews who were killed by the Einsatzgruppen were guilty of being spies and partisans.
- Those Jews who were incarcerated in concentration camps were placed there by the Germans for their own protection, to save them from the righteous anger and hostility of German “Aryans.”
- The number 6,000,000 is an exaggeration which was fabricated by Jews in the postwar period.
- Gas chambers are a scientific impossibility. Therefore, the claims that they existed are false.
- People who purport to be survivors of the concentration and death camps are sociopaths, liars, or doing this for financial gain.
