In fact, Kurgan is probably the best bit about the film, with Lamberts laugh coming in second and the witty banter between him and old bill third. Queen soundtrack as well.

Saw it at the flicks when it came out and loved it, watched it on ITV4 a few weeks back and it was OK. Kurgan's still pretty funny when he runs all the people over.

DO NOT Sit through Highlander II though.

You seem to be forgetting the awesome swordsfights. I've heard the accusation that it is a long music video levelled before. Yes it is style not substance, but what style. The cliche heavy dialogue is nicely done and quite amusing. The visuals are very good. And the idea of some band fighting to become the last immortal is cool.


It gets progressively shitter with each sequel. Tit count rises though, so not an entire loss. Sword fighting and boobs could not save Highlander 3 though. That was just a fucking joke

Saw Highlander at Stirling Castle...burning torch-throwers on the ramparts, big guy on a Clydesdale horse in the entry yard dressed as the Kurgan threatening people, staged fight in the court-yard at half time, burning braziers.

It was very cool.

Like so many shit films of the 80's it's of nostalgic value to a generation who grew up with shit films like this one.
