I was really looking forward to this one, and hopefully resuming our usual exciting home form, but the weather forecast suggests we're in for a repeat of the wind and rain that accompanied the Hashtag flop. Hopefully the team performance will be better this time. Dover are unbeaten away, having begun the season with an eye-catching 8-0 win at Potters Bar on the opening day, so it's about time they lost on their travels! Match review from club website below.

Weather looks like it will be terrible be nice if we could make that work for us unlike Hashtag as you say. Dover seem pretty relentless though!

A lot of games already being called off as much due to the high winds as the rain. Should be an interesting game in the expected conditions.

As far as I can tell, only Carshalton v Whitehawk (with a 3G pitch) looks to be off due to high winds in the southeast. (Nothing at all on the Carshalton twitter account and only a brief message on Whitehawk's, so possibly storm damage to the ground?) Folkestone and Canvey are both off due to waterlogged pitches. Whitstable v Jersey in the FA Vase is off due to flight cancellations.

The conditions will obviously be hopeless for attractive football, which is a shame for such an attractive fixture.

Hard to be too down after that, we lost two defenders by halftime. You can see why they are the runaway leaders.

I can't understand why Hak continues with Oli Lynch, what's that now, 15, 20 games without a goal? Frigging hopeless stuff.

Lynch does a lot of great work, other than the lack of goals scored. He wins the ball, holds it up, lays it off with perfect timing. He fired a brilliant pass out to the touchline for AJ to initiate our goal, then he was homing in on the cross to pressure their defender into an own goal. No one deserved that goal more than he, even though he doesn't get credited on the scoresheet. I did think we waited too long to introduce Mills though, by which time we'd totally conceded the initiative.

The loss of Ross Marshall just before their equaliser left us short of an aerial and physical presence that might have prevented the goal from a near post corner. The additional loss of German at half-time was another big blow, which also weakened the midfield with Wynter having to drop into the back four. Porter once again looked rather lost in a midfield role, following an encouraging display as the main striker at Cheshunt, although we didn’t really have any better options by then.

Dover just blew us away in the final quarter, and if the game had lasted another 5 or 10 minutes I think the margin of defeat would have been worse. Even with the mitigating circumstances of the injuries, it's a worry that we look so far adrift of the best teams and are leaking so many goals.

Yes there are reasons why we lost today including Injuries and playing the top team . However our lack of variation means that we are easy to work out. It all depends on Wanadio and Jeffrey imposing themselves from the wings. We have hardly scored any goals through the middle as no one is there to run behind the defence or do a couple iof interchange passes with another player. I actually thought Lynch did ok today but typically there is no one near him so he has to bring it down then look for a long pass to the wing. Thankless task. Porter is not able to play the link role and the only good game I have seen from him is when he up front against Cheshunt. I still think Lynch would be better in that role with Mills just in front of him. Worth a try surely.

All in all it is too one dimensional .

I think our best performances were in the few games when Ramsay and Hudson were the full backs. A pair of natural overlapping full backs to support Wanadio and Jeffrey makes our wingers unplayable. Marshall did well for our goal, and is a solid defender, but JBW is totally unorthodox for a full back. His skillset is probably closer to Ashley Carew, and I can't help thinking he'd be best suited to a midfield role.

It is concerning that it was about this time last season we were getting our act together and at the corresponding time beating Lewes 2 0 away. Our team on paper looks better this season but our current league form is W2 D1 L5 i think. We have also gone out of 3 cups after having had favourable home draws. It is a shame our best midfield 3 of Scott, Hand and Wynter have rarely had the chance to play together as a midfield.

4 tough ganes coming up at Lewes and Dartford and home to CPM and Carshalton. It is not too late to get in the play off mix again as I see Dartford have moved up there from being lower down the league recently but I think we need to make it harder for the oppostion to nullify our set way of playing.

Couldn't make it yesterday but I feared we would be torn apart. I can't understand how we end up beaten by huge margins - is it fitness? Horlick has kept scores down in that run of games but he is on loan and could be recalled I assume. Non scoring forwards are of no use whatsoever - hard but record speaks for itself. Mills has to start every match. Every other side has injuries too but with largest squad in the division we should be able to cope. Why play our first choice xi in a cup when our league form is so poor? Way off where we should be with our two top wingers.

With current performances I struggle to see how the title and automatic promotion is anything more than a pipe dream. Thankfully looking at the strugglers I don’t feel that relegation should be much of a fear either. The question is can this team find the sort of consistency to set itself apart from the midtable logjam. The FWP predicted final table seems to say no but must admit I’m intrigued to hear how the progress this season matches up with the club’s own forecasts.

And on the subject of silverware it’s been more than a decade since league or knockout competition victory for the men‘s team so would be nice to bring something home before too long.

Generally we put out a second team for cup ties and lose to lower tier sides. So why, when you constantly mention injuries (which every club has), spend you limited resources on London cup when playoffs are your target? Doesn't cry out thoughtful planning to me although I would always select best available side as you are charging admission albeit reduced.

I'd rather win the London Senior Cup, then get into the playoffs. So it depends whose target you are talking about!
