'likesfish' I don't know where you got this information but it is incorrect! (depending on your definition of high power!!)
Firearms are banned in the UK with the exception of shotguns and black powder loaders.

you need a firearms licence and some where to shoot true.
but you can own a modern sniper rifle or any single shot non semi automatic rifle for target shooting or deer culling. was even invited by a friend to have a go at bambi bashing my self apart Mrs likefish doing her nut would love to have ago. theres no full bore range near Brighton or I'd love to own a lee enfield and have a go at shooting again
theres even some loons own .50cal rilfes why I don't know but they do
