Greece v Albania, 1964

Apparently Greece withdrew from the 1964 tournament after being drawn against Albania in the qualifying rounds. Does anybody know specifically what this was about?

I know Greece claims part of Albania (as it claims bits of all its neighbours :D) that may have been a cause.

Greece was under the Colonels at the time wasnt it? that probably didnt improve relations with Hoxhas Albania.

Wiki says:

"Greece refused to play Albania in their first match in the UEFA European Championship in March 1963 as the countries had officially been at war since 1912."

Didn't the 'Treaty of Bucharest, 1913' put that baby to bed? Or, did they forget to tell the Greeks?:D

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Andorra was at war with Germany from 1914 to 1945 or thereabouts. They declared war along with everyone else at the start of WWI but someone forgot to invite them to Versailles so they never made peace. After WWII was over they finally got round to burying the hatchet
